About the Lab Manager

Sam Koziarz is a graduate of the Wilson College of Textiles, earning his B.S. in Fashion and Textile Management with a concentration in Fashion Development and Product Management. During his time as a student, he worked for three years as a Technician’s Assistant under Samantha Pearce in the Fashion Studio, learning studio and prototyping operations. Now, he is the Manager of the Prototype Lab, overseeing every stage of the textile product prototyping process, from concept development through finished prototype production. His expertise spans design and patternmaking, sewing and bonding, fabric cutting, digital textile printing, 3D printing, whole-garment and sock knitting, embroidery, and 3D body scanning. Sam collaborates with industry partners, entrepreneurs, and NC State faculty and students to transform innovative ideas into functional, high-quality prototypes, providing technical guidance throughout the product development process.
